Ecosystem Mk2 24 Slabs

The new Ecosystem Mk2 vertical hydroponics growing system has finally arrived and has been long awaited by many UK growers who have had previous experience with vertical growing.

The main design of the Ecosystem is to have the lights positioned central and vertical amongst the plant canopy rather than horizontal above your plant canopy, this allows many more plants to be positioned vertically around the lights and grown for a much shorter period before fruiting or flowering them, but as there are many more plants grown the yield produced can be better than you could imagine for the amount of lighting used and the space taken up by the Ecosystem. We recommend about 5 plants per slab in the Ecosystem Mk2, making a total of up to 120 plants grown in the 24 rockwool slabs which are 1 metre in length, and all the plants will receive the same quality and quantity of light. The Ecosystem irrigation delivery system is a top feed drip irrigation system with pipe and compression fittings, neatly fitting around the unit. Nutrient solution is pumped from the 90 litre tank and delivered up to the top of each growing slab through the irrigation pipes, allowing the nutrient solution to gently drip and run througth the slabs to feed your plants, excess solution drains at the bottom into pipes that can be re-circulated back into the main tank or if desired it can be run to waste from the Ecosystem. The grow lights glass tube which is 6" in diameter can be connected to an extraction system to draw all heat produced from the two 600w lamps to keep the temperatures inside the unit and room its used in very low. A fresh air supply into the grow room is also essential and floor fans can be used to help deliver a gentle breeze of fresh air up through the plant canopy. Wheels are fitted to make opening and closing of the unit possible for one person. The results with this unit are amazing, we had excellent results testing it with strawberries and look forward to a long hot summer to enjoy our crop.

The Ecosystem Mk2 can be purchased as seen in the image above but will require two 600w ballasts and two 600w lamps with a two way contactor and timer to be purchased, unless you have them already, or it can be purchased from GreenSea with these supplied. The room its installed into will also need ventilation that can be connected to the glass light tube as well, this is not supplied with the Ecosystem but if you take a look at our extraction kits we offer a 10% saving on all parts in the kit and a fan and some duct can be used for the fresh air supply into the room.
