Perlite

Perlite is an excellent light, coarse growing media that can be used alone or mixed with another substrate.

In most soils you will find some Perlite contained in the mix which is added to retain more water inside the soil and also to provide better aeration.

Perlite is an inert sterile media, containing no nutritional content. It has a neutral PH and is free from any organic impurities as it is made from natural volcanic rock that is crushed and heated to nearly 1000 degrees Celsius.
