Broad Bean Bunyards Exhibition should be sown outdoors where they are to crop, 5cm deep directly into finely prepared soil which has already been watered.

• Allow 30cm between seeds.
• A double row 60cm apart makes best use of space.
• Seedlings usually appear in 10-18 days.
• Early and late sowings benefit from cloche protection.
• Water well until plants are established.
• Successional sowings will ensure a continuous supply and longer harvest.
• Sow indoors 2.5cm deep into individual pots of compost.
• Water well and place in a warm position.
• A temperature of 15-20c is ideal.
• Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions, avoid frosts, before planting out 30cm apart.
